New Ofsted Framework 2019

Description
This session provides delegates with an opportunity to explore the new Ofsted framework. It will provide an overview of the main changes to the evaluation schedule, as well as the format of Section 5 and Section 8 inspections. Delegates will have time during the session to reflect on key aspects in relation to their own self-evaluation and school improvement planning.

This session will be delivered by Steve Rollett, ASCL Curriculum and Inspections Specialist

Steve Rollett leads for ASCL on issues relating to the curriculum, assessment and inspection. He sits on a range of advisory and discussion panels and was part of Ofsted’s curriculum advisory group, contributing to the development of the 2019 inspection framework.

Steve has collaborated with a range of individuals and organisations in relation to education policy, including publishing an influential analysis of inspection outcomes. His writing on curriculum and inspection features regularly in the education media and he has recently contributed to a book on secondary school curriculum leadership.

Prior to joining ASCL in 2016, Steve was a vice principal in a challenging secondary school. Having arrived at the school just after it was put into special measures, he helped to transform it into one of England's most improved schools in less than two years. Steve originally trained as a history teacher and his work as a Hampshire 'Leading Teacher' contributed to an Ofsted best practice publication on how to use subject networks to raise standards of teaching and learning.
