During this session delegates will have an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the KS2 Pre Key Stage standards.  

The session will include:

• an overview of the Pre Key Stage standards for reading, writing and mathematics
• the opportunity to moderate with other schools against the new Pre Key Stage standards

Delegates will be required to bring along samples of work from Year 6 pupil(s) at their school to moderate with colleagues against the Pre Key Stage standard statements.

When considering samples of work to bring delegates may wish to focus on borderline pupils, including those who may have evidence against the criteria for 'Working Towards the Expected Standard'.

Pupils will:

• be enabled and supported to reach expectations appropriate to their ability and in line with similar pupils nationally

 Practitioners will:

• moderate and validate their judgements with other schools against national standards

 Settings will:

• be secure in their Year 6 teacher assessment judgements for the Pre Key Stage standards
