Group activities for Autistic Children: Sensory Stories and Drama Games
Staff will learn how to adapt and develop their own sensory stories.
The course also covers interventions to engage these same children in social group activities to develop their communication, anticipation, and engagement.
Pupils will:
  • be provided with appropriate strategies and support to assist their inclusion, interaction, and access to a literacy and early language/interaction-based interventions.
Staff will:
  • have an in-depth knowledge of how sensory stories and early social games can support autistic children to develop their literacy, language and interaction skills
  • be confident about the rationale and theory behind sensory stories
Settings will:
  • have staff who have a greater understanding of how to use sensory stories and social games to support autistic children
Staff supporting autistic students at an early stage of communication development in schools.  SENCOs, Teachers, and Teaching Assistants.
