Greenwich Learning Partnership is committed to providing world-class support for schools in Greenwich and beyond.

We are an alliance of strong and innovative schools, highly focused local authority support and universities (including the University of Greenwich and Goldsmiths University), collaborating to deliver excellent teaching and embed outstanding practice at all levels.

Apple Teacher

Apple Teacher is a free professional development programme from Apple that introduces the basics of using iPad, explores productivity with Pages, Keynote and Numbers and then creativity with iMovie and GarageBand.

Over the two half-days, this course will work through all six ‘badges’ of Apple Teacher, enabling the attendee to gain their Apple teacher recognition by the end of the second workshop.

Schools will:

  •  Have staff who are better equiped to make effective use of iPad in the classroom

Pupils will:

  •  Enjoy more connected, creative, collaborative and personal learning experiences on iPad

Staff will:

  •  Be recognised as an Apple Teacher by the end of the second workshop
  •  Have the skills and knowledge to use a range of iPad apps and tools in the classroom

Primary Music Subject Leader Network Meeting
The Royal Greenwich Music Service is inviting primary Music subject leaders to attend a series of three network meetings that will take place over the course of the academic year.
 
Meetings will be led by the Royal Greenwich Music Service management team with visiting guest speakers from national and local partner music organisations.
 
All sessions involve a practical session, where music leaders will focus on different instruments throughout the academic year.
The meetings will be a fantastic opportunity to meet colleagues from different schools and share good practice.
 
Attendance at the meetings will ensure subject leaders are kept up to date with national, regional and local priorities and initiatives in music.
The meetings are open to music leads and music teachers of all levels from Greenwich primary schools.

Primary Computing Subject Leader Network Meetings
We would like to invite primary Computing Subject Leaders to attend a series of 3 network meetings that will take place over the course of the academic year. The meetings will be a fantastic opportunity to meet colleagues from different schools, share good practice and discuss current research and initiatives.
The sessions will be run by Tim Lings, the Director of Digital Learning at Heronsgate Primary, as part of the work with RBG EYFS/Primary Strategy Group. Tim has a wealth of experience teaching and leading computing and has been recognised for the work he has done with digital learning at Heronsgate. He is passionate about working with Computing leads across Greenwich.
The sessions will include:
  • Opportunities for leaders to reflect on their leadership of Computing and identify areas to develop back in school
  • Collaborate and share best practice with Computing leads across Greenwich
  • A close look at progression of different strands of Computing from EYFS to YR7
  •  A deep understanding of substantive and disciplinary subject knowledge
  • Understanding what excellence looks like
  • Opportunities to connect between sessions using a digital platform
We encourage subject leaders from all Greenwich primary schools and with all levels of experience to join us. KS3 computing teachers/leads are welcome to attend.

Secondary RE Subject Leader Network Meetings
We would like to invite secondary RE Subject Leaders to attend a series of network meetings that will take place over the course of the academic year. The meetings will be a fantastic opportunity to meet colleagues from different schools, share good practice and discuss current research and initiatives.
The sessions will be run by Rahima Choudhury, Curriculum Leader of Guidance at Tallis & Associate RE Lecturer at Goldsmiths, as part of the work with RBG EYFS/Primary Strategy Group.  Rahima has been running a successful primary and secondary RE hub in Greenwich for several years. Rahima is passionate about her subject and wants to share this passion across Greenwich schools.
The sessions will include:
  • Opportunities for leaders to reflect on their leadership of RE and identify areas to develop back in school
  • Explore Threshold Concepts; look at SACRE Syllabus and plan
  • Collaborate and share best practice with RE leads across Greenwich
  • A close look at progression of different strands of RE from Year 7 to YR13
  • A deep understanding of substantive and disciplinary subject knowledge
  • Understanding what excellence looks like
  • Collaborate on building a bank of high-quality resources
