The Professional Role
A leader is someone who has senior management responsibility, and this can include formal governance/director responsibilities. They are responsible for direction and vision, providing a clear sense of purpose and driving strategic intent. They take into account market trends and environmental influences, identifying longer-term opportunities and risks.
Through inclusive leadership, they are responsible for developing ethical, innovative and supportive cultures with the ability to deliver results.
They are a role model, with responsibility for those in senior positions/significant organisational budgets.
The Learning Journey
The length of the course is typically 24 months plus the End Point Assessment.
On Programme Learning
This course is delivered through a series of monthly masterclasses using a blended learning model, including independent study and work based assignments to evidence the knowledge, skills and behaviours for this qualification, a sample of which is listed in the knowledge, skills and behaviours table. Some sessions will be delivered virtually using video calling.

Additional Requirements
You will need to achieve a level 2 qualification in English and maths, if you do not already hold an equivalent qualification.

Progression
On successful completion, apprentices may choose to register as members with their professional body such as the Chartered Institute for Marketing, the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership and Management, in order to support their professional career development and progression.
End Point Assessment
Once you have met all the criteria to pass Gateway, the EPA will consist of:
- Project showcase including report, presentation and questioning
- Professional discussion based on review of portfolio
