Direct Services to Schools

Improvement Partner Programme

Services

(Sept 2024 - July 2025)

School Improvement Partners provide a single point of contact for the school. They work with school leaders to support, challenge and validate self-evaluation.

They are able to facilitate teaching and learning reviews and support the development of leadership at all levels. They can assist schools in preparation for Ofsted inspections, including desktop surveys of school websites, data and documentation.

Working across a multi-disciplinary School Improvement Service they are also able to broker bespoke Continuous Professional Development and facilitate the sharing of best practice.

Improvement Partner

Your Improvement Partner will provide the equivalent of three full days comprising of three half-day visits plus a written report.  In addition, the school can contact the Improvement Partner to discuss specific school issues.  The visits will take place over the academic year and are tailored to meet the needs of your school. The record of each visit can be part of your evidence of external challenge and validation.

The Improvement Partner will:
  • Discuss and agree the required support for the year.
  • Ensure visits support the school’s improvement priorities.
  • Provide relevant email or telephone support.

Additional Teaching and Learning Support
Schools can choose to add to the standard IP programme offer and commission the School Improvement Service for additional teaching and learning support days to support  their school's priorities for the academic year.  This will be a bespoke offer to the school and agreed in discussion with the school's Improvement Partner.

Schools in the IP programme will benefit from a 10% discount on the total cost of additional days commissioned for the academic year.
Schools continue to have the option to commission bespoke school improvement support at any point throughout the year at the standard rate of £550 per day pro-rata.

For further information on both the standard IP programme and the additional teaching and learning support, please see service specification below.

IP/School Peer Review

Schools have the option to use one of their half-day visits to participate in an IP/school peer review with a small group of other Royal Greenwich schools.

The IP/School Peer Review process enables school leaders to focus on a particular school improvement priority.  The review process provides external quality assurance from other school leaders, facilitated by an IP.

As part of the process leaders will visit and peer review the schools they are working with. An Improvement Partner will facilitate each of these visits.

Participation in the IP/School Peer Review will not incur any additional costs.  For further information, please click here and see service specification below.
