Direct Services to Schools

Wellbeing - Outreach Counselling

The Educational Psychology & Wellbeing Service (EPWS) is made up of three teams – Educational Psychology Service (EPS), Outreach Counselling, and Restorative Approaches. We offer a range of approaches to help improve outcomes for children and young people (CYP) experiencing difficulties with learning, social & emotional development or well-being.

The Outreach Counselling Service offers emotional and mental health support for CYP, and adults in a safe and supportive environment.  It is provided by qualified counsellors and supervised final-year trainees, working closely with schools and CAMHS teams.

Services

How can we help?

We offer person-centred counselling for children, young people, and adults that focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment where they can explore their thoughts and emotions freely.  The approach is non-directive and respects their autonomy, allowing them to lead the process at their own pace.  It emphasises empathy, understanding, and unconditional positive regard, enabling individuals to feel heard, valued, and accepted.  This fosters self-awareness, growth, and the ability to work through challenges in a way that feels empowering and authentic.
